ugly sweater party.

yes, that's what i said. an ugly sweater party. pretty much the best christmas party i've ever been to. :)

this is everyone except one latecomer. who you will see in later pictures ;)

and here we have... nathan. he had to come late because of bball practice. and... he didn't bring a sweater. so we kindly gave him one we picked out for him to wear. :)

i think someone was just a bit embarrassed.

matt. with the fuzzy pharoah sweater.

ok so story.
there was once a little baby.
named Derek Simba Luigi.
and Rachel soon discovered that pretty much none of the boys knew how to properly hold a baby.
so she began giving them lessons.
here is elliot after learning primary baby-holding techniques.
notice the hand supporting the back of the head. A+

i am holding Derek Simba Luigi. and Alex is probably being mean. cuz that's what he's best at. and jo-jo is texting. and ashley's face is all gone. :P
so that was pretty much really funny. thanks so much for hosting, Ashy. can't wait for next years. maybe i could have time to hand-knit a sweater by then? we shall see. :)
pc sean for some of these

the chickadee and the song sparrow.

soooo.
i just have to say that i love Christmas break.
Kristen came over today to bake cookies and have fun.
we definitely did both.
83 double-chocolate-chip cookies and 56 pretzels dipped in chocolate.
and looots and lots of lemonade and doritos.

we had a chocolate war. :)

doritos and lemonade. our trademark.

ok so we watched Dennis the Menace while we baked. and laughed really hard. and decided to make Dennis faces.

and Joey faces...

and Margaret faces...
:)

GUNTHER!! :D

and then we "danced" in the kitchen. and my little sister grabbed the camera.

attempted piggy back ride....

can i say it again?
i really love christmas break :)

the first 39th ;)

today is my daddy's birthday :)

7am: wake up and let the dog out. try to fall back asleep on the couch.
830am: uncle mark and uncle mike arrive. while the four of us went outside to shovel snow, they stayed inside to make breakfast.
930am: bacon and eggs and fried potatos and orange juice for breakfast.
1030am: watched some of Will Ferrell's SNL skits and listened to Chunky :)
1230pm: Michigan Rummy with the family. Daddy won.
145pm: I took a walk with my parents in the snooow.
330: Uncle Mark took Em and I to spin some 360s... all parking lots were either occupied or plowed, but we did manage to sliiiiide around on the roads like maniacs and scare my neighbors.
3:55pm: blog post :)

yes. it's snowing.

so i'm gonna be like everyone else and make a blog post about it.

this is my back deck..... covered......

my dog, although he is freezing, is loving the snow. it's so high his tummy drags in it when he walks. he and Emmy are outside right now running around and rolling in it, so we'll probably have more pictures later.

daddy tossed some snow on the doggie, who then became a very white dog...

and just for good measure:
:)

chriiiiistmas tree chopping :)

these pics are from a few weeks ago, my family went to go chop down our christmasy tree in a big field of a million trees. i voted for a charlie brown christmas tree this year, but unfortunately that was vetoed. i'm still holding out for next year tho ;)

this is the "we're go glad to be here this is so much fun!" face :)

this is the "we are freezing and we want to get a tree and go" face. :P

daddy forgot to smile. but that's ok. ;)
